Does a Bounce House Need Power? Outlet & Generator Guide

Learn what power inflatables need, how close an outlet must be, and when a generator rental makes sense for your MJT event.

Yes — inflatables need power the whole time

Bounce houses, combos, water slides, obstacle courses and interactive inflatables run on blowers that stay on for the entire event. If the blower stops, the inflatable comes down, so plan power before you plan anything else.

What kind of outlet works

Powered equipment generally needs a dedicated 115-volt, 20-amp outlet for each blower or motor. 'Dedicated' means nothing else is plugged into that circuit — sharing with a refrigerator, DJ setup or other equipment can trip the breaker and deflate the inflatable.

How close does power need to be?

At checkout we ask whether adequate power is available within the required distance for your rentals — typically 50 feet from the setup area. Measure from the outlet to where the inflatable will actually sit, not just to the edge of the yard.

No outlet nearby? Rent a generator

If your event is at a park, field or anywhere without reliable power, generators are available to rent. How many you need depends on the equipment you choose, so answer the power question at checkout honestly and let the booking flow or our team work it out for you.

Staffed experiences need power too

Staffed attractions like foam parties also require power at the setup area. The same rule applies: tell us about your power situation when you book so the crew arrives with the right plan.
